Leaders of the UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, and Bahrain opened today a summit on the Egyptian Mediterranean coast where discussions are set to touch on security and challenges and economic cooperation.
On Monday, Bahrain’s King Hamad, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, and Iraq’s Prime Minister Mustafa Al Kadhimi joined President Sheikh Mohamed and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in the coastal city of New Alamein.
The summit is taking place at a time when export-reliant Arab nations are struggling to meet demands for grain amid the Ukraine war.
Egyptian Al Ahram daily said discussions are also set to include the wars in Yemen, Syria, Libya, and the Palestinian conflict.
