The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has denied information about the financial compensation amount received by former coach Vahid Halilhodzic, after being dismissed on August 11.
The FRMF said in a recent press release issued this Saturday, that “the amount of money stated on media is purely imaginary,” adding that both parties ended the contract by mutual consent and amicably.
“According to the Moroccan labor code, Halilhodzic has received the equivalent of his three months salary as stipulated in his contract signed with the FRMF,” added the press release.
“The monthly salary of the former coach does not exceed MAD 800,000 as previously announced during his presentation to the press,” according to the same source.
Halilhodzic’s reaction on dismissal
The French-Bosnian still cannot admit his dismissal as a coach for the Atlas Lions after qualifying three different countries for the World Cup.
After Japan and Ivory Coast, the French-Bosnian was let down once more after qualifying a national team to the tournament, but not being part of the competing selection.
Morocco becomes the third country to end Halilhodzic’s career with the national team, after qualifying them for the upcoming 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup.
In an interview with the Croatian daily “http://24sata.hr “, Halilhodzic expressed his disappointment at being forced to leave the Moroccan national team just months ahead of the sporting event kick-off.
“I qualified three national teams for the World Cup final group stages, but I was dismissed before the game begins,” said Halilhodzic.
The FIFA Qatar World Cup 2022 will kick off on Sunday, November 20 at 19:00, announced the Federation in a recent press release.
Morocco was drawn together with Group F countries, alongside Belgium, Canada, and Croatia.
“I have no idea what happened or how it happened. I worked hard on my work projects with these national teams and achieved excellent results, only to find myself out of the picture,” added the coach.
Regarding his last experience with the Atlas Lions, the French-Bosnian said that he made several efforts and sacrifices, “I did an excellent and serious job. And then, in the end, someone else will come and take over all of the work, which is very sad and painful.”
Halilhodzic also stated that he received proposals from three to four clubs that approached him.
“I’ll then take some time to think about it and decide on which club to coach or even end my sporting career here,” he concluded.
