Morocco’s Royal Football Federation has reportedly decided to let national football coach Vahid Halilhodzic go.
Hesport sources confirmed that the French-Bosnian coach arrived in Morocco on Tuesday, where he met with the FRMF’s treasurer, relaying the federation’s decision.
The procedures for terminating Halilhodzic’s contract will reportedly be completed upon the return of FRMF head Fouzi Lakjaa from Tanzania, where he is attending a CAF executive meeting, the same sources added.
Previously, Lekjaa has allegedly noted that removing Halilhodzic would not cost the Federation much financially, but did not confirm whether the FRMF will sack the coach, added the same source.
The French-Bosnian coach failed to reach the first fixed goal in his contract within the federation.
Among the national coach’s goals are to reach the finals in the 2021 African Cup of Nations, a qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2022 and CAN 2023.
Halilhodzic also raised controversy among citizens, following his wrong moves, mainly the exclusion of international players in the recent sporting events.
