Attijariwafa Bank Foundation launches the national visual arts competition “Imagine Your City.”
Participants will have to submit their artistic vision of “the city of tomorrow” using photography, visual arts or street art by September 15, 2022.
The six winners of this competition will receive production support and an exhibition at the Actua art space of the organizing foundation.
This initiative aims to highlight the vitality and richness of the Moroccan and African art sceneries in general.
“The competition is open to anyone practicing a contemporary artistic activity such as graffiti, virtual reality, light painting or electronic drawing,” said the foundation in a statement.
This outdoor-oriented competition invites participants to imagine their city of tomorrow. They will be able to propose their own artistic creation, their own projection of a city, imagined or real, to contribute, to reinvent the public space, to be nourished by its architectural heritage, by privileging three techniques, namely photography, visual arts and street art.
Candidates will be evaluated by a jury of experts in the fields of visual arts, heritage and cultural policies, composed of Anthropologist, Professor-Researcher Hayat Zirari, anthropologist, professor and researcher at Hassan II University, Faculty of Letters and Humanities of Casablanca, Abderrahim Kassou, architect, urban planner and former president of the Casamémoire association and Abdelmajid Seddati, teacher of video art and cinema at the Faculties of Letters of Ben M’sik and Aïn Chok and artistic director of the International Video Art Festival of Casablanca
