Due to the fixed radars placed on roads in Morocco, the courts rendered 182,354 judgments regarding traffic violations and offenses, totaling MAD 66,655,821, local media reports.

Morocco’s Minister of Justice Abdelatif Ouahbi said the north African country is gradually developing its means to reduce the number of deaths related to traffic offenses.

As a result, the actors in the road safety sector have taken the opportunity to evaluate the gains that have been achieved as well as the obstacles that prevent achieving the goals set forth in the National Road Safety Strategy 2017-2026, reports the same source.

Ouahbi also mentions that his department is putting into place a set of measures that can improve the efficiency of the road accident reduction process. He adds, “with the installation of new radars equipped with advanced technologies, the number of offenses should experience an increase, which will impact the number of reports of fines and offenses observed.”
