Morocco’s Health Ministry on Wednesday announced moving towards a four months interval between the second and third shot of vaccines instead of six, part of new procedures aimed at containing the fourth wave of Covid-19.
The Health Ministry said in a press release that those who received the single shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and exceeded 4 months can also receive the booster shot.
“Eligible people will begin receiving text messages from the number 1717, reminding them to receive the third booster shot,” according to the same source.
The Health Ministry concluded its press release by calling on citizens to receive their anti-COVID-19 shots as well as respecting precautionary measures, including proper mask-wearing, disinfection, and social distancing, following the noticeable increase in cases, and the spread of Omicron.
Morocco recorded 1504 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, raising the total of cases since the beginning of the outbreak to 959 098.
The kingdom has also reported 5 Covid related deaths in the past 24 hours.
