34% of business leaders in Morocco expect overall activity to increase for non-financial market services in the fourth quarter of 2021, while 42% of them expect the activities to remain stable, according to the High Commission for Planning (HCP).
These expectations come as a result of the improvement achieved in some fields, including land transport and transport by pipelines, Storage, and auxiliary transport services.
On the other hand, some fields have suffered great losses, including Accommodation, Air transport, and Activities of travel agencies, tour operators, reservation services, and related activities, explained the HCP in its recent note on the results of its quarterly economic surveys in wholesale trade, and non-financial market services.
Additionally, 52% of business leaders anticipate a stable demand, and 78% expect a stagnation of the workforce during the same period, according to the same source.
HCP’s report shows that 57% of business leaders expect the non-financial market services to increase in the third quarter, but 22% anticipate a decrease.
This change is mainly explained by the increase in the activities of Air transport, Telecommunications, and Land transport, and transport by pipelines. On the other hand, the decrease in activity was recorded in the fields of Water transport, Warehousing, and auxiliary transport services.
In Q3-2021, the sector’s service capacity utilization rate (TUC) amounted to 77%.
This sector’s activity is rated as normal by 56% of business leaders, and below normal by 40%.
As for employment, it has been stable according to 67% of business leaders.
