The launch of these two new flights came after Moroccan authorities announced the end of all exceptional flights to the country by Dec.23, following a surge of the first Omicron case in the country.
The WHO described the new variant as a highly transmissible “variant of concern.”
RAM has already launched one-way special flights for Moroccans stranded abroad in three destinations, including Portugal, Turkey, and the UAE.
Only Moroccans residing in the Kingdom, having left Morocco since October 1, who can benefit from these special flights, wrote RAM in a tweet.
They must therefore provide at check-in, their national ID card or passport, proving their address in Morocco, as well as a PCR test taken within less than 48 hours, adding they will be quarantined for 7 days in a hotel designated for this aim, and they will undergo PCR tests every 48 hours.
RAM added, “any traveler who will test positive at the airport or at the hotel will be supported by the competent health authorities.”
