Algeria’s team qualified on Saturday to the semi-finals in FIFA Arab Cup at the expense of its Moroccan counterpart thanks to a penalty shootout that made the difference at the very end.
The first half ended with no goals, with high defense from both teams.
Algeria’s player Yacine Brahimi recorded his team the first goal after the end of the second half at 62’, followed by Morocco’s goal scored by Mohamed Nahiri at 64.’
In the extra time, Algeria’s player Mohamed Belaili scored the second goal at 102,’ followed by another Moroccan goal scored by Badr Bennoun at 111.’
The game finished in a draw with 2-2, while penalty kicks made the difference with Algeria winning 5 to 3.
Tonight’s game was part of the quarter-finals in the 2021 Qatar FIFA Arab Cup.
Algeria follows Tunisia and Qatar to the semi-finals, set to take place on December 15, and the final of this sporting event is scheduled for December 18.
