The filming of Indiana Jones 5 began on Sunday, Starring 78-year-old American actor Harrison Ford.

This day was devoted to filming new events from the film in Al-Mallah neighborhood and Bab Al-Samarin, while the filming crew and actors will have, on Monday, a date with filming other scenes in Bab Boujloud Square, before returning to Al-Mallah neighborhood to resume filming in this old Jewish neighborhood.

During the filming of this movie’s scenes, the shops in the Mellah neighborhood were closed to make way for old cars and camels and to furnish the main street of this neighborhood with decorations reflecting scenes from the sixties of the last century.

Harrison Ford has missed the scenes of the first day, but is expected to participate in diagnosing the events of the last adventures of the legendary character Indiana Jones during the filming of the upcoming stations of the events of this film in Fez.

Ford stars alongside Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Boyd Holbrook (Logan), Shaunette Renée Wilson (The Resident) and Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age of Ultron), CCM said, noting that filming began in London on June 7 and will continue in Fez and Oujda this summer.

Moroccan Cinematographic Center (CCM) has already announced that the country will host the film crew of the fifth adventure of Indiana Jones, adding that filming began in London on June 7 and will take place as well in Fez and Oujda.

Indiana Jones is not the first foreign movie to be filmed in Morocco, it will be added to the series of major international cinema productions, including James Bond, Jason Bourne, Mission Impossible, Game of Thrones, and the Indian movie Jagga Jasoos.

“Morocco’s success and its attractiveness as a large filming space are thanks to the multiple sets offered by the country, to its exceptional light, to the experience and qualification of its technical teams, also to the measures taken since 2017 by the Moroccan Cinematographic Center as well as the advantages granted to foreign producers,” said CCM in a statement.
