Turkish Airlines plans to operate nine flights instead of seven per week between Marrakech and Istanbul, starting October 1, according to its weekly flights on the website.
This increase in the number of flights came after Turkey decided to reopen its tourism sector in order to increase the economy.
Turkey is on Morocco’s safe travel A list countries, with vaccinated people able to travel with their vaccination pass, whereas unvaccinated people must present an exceptional authorization as well as a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours prior to the flight date.
The passengers who are tested positive or who have been in contact with persons with positive PCR test results are required to quarantine upon arrival for 14 days.
Previously, the Turkish embassy in Rabat announced measures related to travel restrictions and testing requirements for travelers coming from Morocco, as a result of the rise of COVID-19 cases in the country as well as the emergence of forged COVID-19 related documents.
Currently, COVID-19 cases continue to decrease for the seventh consecutive week across Morocco, representing a drop of 36%, said the Ministry of Health on Tuesday.
According to the ministry of health’s latest tally, over 18 million people are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 pandemic, while over 22 million people have received their first shot.
