The secretary-general of the National Rally of Independents, Aziz Akhannouch met today with the head of the Popular Movement party, as efforts to form the next government continue.

The meeting comes after Akhannouch already met with PAM, PI and USFP heads, following king Mohammed VI’s instructions to form the government.

Laenser, whose party came in fifth in the elections, said that “the meeting was an occasion to congratulate Akhannouch for the trust he won, as well as an opportunity to congratulate him on winning the elections.”

The Popular Movement head told reporters after his meeting with Akhannouch that he presented the party’s point of view regarding the coalition talks that will continue in the coming days, noting that “the party supports everything that is in the best interest of Morocco.”

Laenser also expressed his hope that the next government will be “good news” for Morocco.
