The Ministry of National Education delayed the school season for the second time until October 1.

The decision comes as the country races to get students aged 12-17 vaccinated ahead of the new school year.

Three million Moroccan students have begun taking Covid-19 vaccines last week, including public and private education teachers and foreign mission schools.

420 vaccination centers opened across the country to receive students aged 12 to 17, giving parents the choice to jab their children with either Sinopharma and Pfizer, with each able to accommodate more than 500 students each day.

A source from the ministry of health told Hespress the decision aims to “avoid any epidemiological setback, especially through the emergence of clusters within educational and training institutions.”
