Commuters and visitors in Tangier will soon be sightseeing picturesque Tangier down out of the windows of cable car, once it opens its doors in 2024.

The cable car, whose line will run for 1,3 kilometers, will connect four stations, namely those of Borj Naam ( Kasbah), the port of Tangier city, the marina, and the faro place (Sour AlMaagazine).

The project is part of royal instructions to reconvert of the port area of the city of Tangier, said the president and CEO of SAPT, Mohamed Ouanaya, noting that this installation will position Tangier as one of the most touristic cities on the northern shore of the Mediterranean, especially since the geography of Tangier is conducive to the creation of a cable car.

The cable car project aims to position Tangier as a tourist destination by making the port area of Tangier a center of attraction, accessible for all while providing a transport infrastructure that offers a panoramic view.

This project is also part of a sustainable development approach, and will also contribute to the increase of tourism in the city.

The cable car follows in the TGV  linking Tangier and Casablanca, becoming the second  project in terms of the transport infrastructure in Tangier.

The country is aiming to develop its transport infrastructure and automobile industry, especially that nearly 90% of the vehicles manufactured in Tangier and Casablanca factories were exported to 74 destinations in 2019, promoting Made In Morocco on the national and international level.
