Canadian mining company Silver Hammer Mining is considering acquiring a mineral processing plant in Morocco capable of handling 200 tonnes of ore daily, as it prepares to expand into the country’s mining sector through proposed corporate mergers.
The company said its executives and board members inspected the facility during a September visit to Morocco.
Silver Hammer has not disclosed the facility’s location, purchase price or a timetable for acquisition. No binding agreement has been announced.
The company is also seeking indirect interests in Moroccan mining projects, including the Akka polymetallic project in southern Morocco, through proposed mergers with Canadian firms Stroud Resources and SilverMark Resources.
Its representatives visited Akka, where mineralized formations extend across an area measuring approximately seven kilometers by 2.5 kilometers, according to the company.
The transactions depend on securing between C$7 million and C$10 million in private financing, equivalent to approximately MAD 49 million to MAD 70 million.
The financing is expected to close around November 30, while the companies have extended their merger termination deadline to January 31, 2027.
