The economic activity is set to maintain its expansion at a rate of 4.7% in the fourth quarter of 2026, assuming that energy prices remain stable and no new major shocks intervene, the High Commission for Planning (HCP) projected.
This improvement primarily rests on the gradual recovery of extractive industries and related activities, in the measure that maintenance work undertaken in the second and third quarters ends and exports realign with the new cycle of the reconstitution of fertilizer stock in Latin American and African countries, the HCP explains in its recent economic outlook report.
The growth remains mainly driven by agriculture and services, whose cumulative contribution would be around 4 points in the fourth quarter of 2026, the same source added.
For its part, domestic demand will continue supporting growth through the end of 2026. Household consumption is projected to rise by 4.3% in Q4-2026, year-on-year, driven by continued attractive bank financing conditions and the renewal of fiscal measures aimed at curbing the spread of energy-related inflation.
Investment is also expected to grow by 6.8%, driven by major infrastructure projects.
