Remittances from Moroccans living abroad reached 89.22 billion dirhams ($9.8 billion) through August 2026, up 9% from 81.85 billion dirhams a year earlier, Morocco’s Foreign Exchange Office said.
The country’s travel balance posted a surplus of 74.62 billion dirhams, up 10.8% year on year. Tourism receipts rose 9.7% to 97.93 billion dirhams, while travel spending increased 6.6% to 23.31 billion dirhams.
Net foreign direct investment inflows jumped 65% to 34.33 billion dirhams. Investment receipts rose 17% to 47.32 billion dirhams, while outflows fell 33.9% to 12.98 billion dirhams.
Net Moroccan direct investment abroad reached 6.67 billion dirhams, compared with 2.36 billion dirhams during the same period last year.
