El Salvador reaffirmed on Friday in New York its support for the efforts made by Morocco to reach a “realistic, political, pragmatic, and lasting solution to the regional dispute” over the Moroccan Sahara.
In a statement before the Fourth Committee of the UN General Assembly, El Salvador’s representative emphasized that the Moroccan autonomy initiative constitutes a “fundamental element” of the efforts aimed at resolving this dispute.
El Salvador, the diplomat added, welcomes the efforts of the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary General to facilitate the political process led under the auspices of the United Nations.
