Amine Al Khayari of Hespress will join the National Press Council after a Rabat administrative court canceled the election of Abdelkebir Akhchichen.
Al Khayari came directly behind Akhchichen in the election results, receiving 353 votes, and will now take his seat on the council.
Akhchichen had ranked fourth among the elected representatives of professional journalists, with 437 votes.
Hanane Rihab topped the results with 703 votes, followed by Abdellah El Bakkali with 481 and Abdelehak El Adimi with 455.
The other elected representatives were Mounia Arshi with 281 votes, Nadia Hassissou with 257, and Aziza Gholam with 253.
The court’s ruling changes the final lineup of professional journalist representatives on the National Press Council.
