Morocco’s mobile subscriber base surpassed 58.8 million by the end of June 2026, remaining virtually unchanged from a year earlier, according to the Directorate of Studies and Financial Forecasts.

The latest economic outlook report showed that the number of mobile subscriptions increased by 0.1% year over year, following 3.2% growth the previous year.

Mobile penetration stood at 157.9% at the end of the first half of 2026, down from 159.6% a year earlier but significantly above the 135.6% recorded in the first half of 2021.

The fixed-line subscriber base also grew during the first half of 2026, increasing by 8%, according to the report.

Internet subscriptions reached nearly 42 million by the end of June, up 1.9% from a year earlier. That followed growth of 5.2% in the previous year.

Internet penetration rose to 112.6% at the end of June 2026, compared with 111.8% a year earlier and 86.2% in June 2021.

The figures cover subscriptions rather than individual users, meaning penetration rates above 100% reflect multiple subscriptions held by individuals or organizations.
