Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology issued an orange-level weather alert for thunderstorms, hail and strong wind gusts across four provinces on Sunday.
The agency said rainfall totals of between 20 and 30 millimeters are expected in Boulemane, Azilal, Ifrane and Midelt.
The warning is in effect from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
The forecast includes locally heavy thundery showers accompanied by hail and strong gusts, conditions that can reduce visibility and cause localized flooding in vulnerable areas.
The weather agency advised residents and road users in the affected provinces to remain cautious during the alert period, particularly in areas prone to runoff, mountain roads and exposed stretches affected by strong winds.
