The post-election phase requires moving beyond the logic of competition and focusing on the expectations of citizens, Secretary General of the Istiqlal Party (PI) Nizar Baraka said following the announcement of the provisional results of the legislative elections, on the night of Wednesday to Thursday.
The next stage requires the full mobilization of the various forces of the Kingdom to address the major challenges, the head of the third-placed party said in a statement to the press.
“Regardless of its position, the Istiqlal Party will continue to work in the service of the Homeland and citizens,” said the PI secretary general.
Baraka welcomed the confidence placed by citizens in the Istiqlal Party, thanking the party’s activists, as well as its candidates, for their efforts during the election.
He also expressed pride in the PI’s maintaining its position at the forefront of the political scene, while congratulating other parties on the results they obtained.
The Istiqlal Party came third with 65 seats, according to the provisional results of the general legislative elections to elect members of the House of Representatives, held on Wednesday.
