Moroccan authorities and Sudan’s embassy organized a voluntary return operation from Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport on Friday, Sept. 11, involving 137 Sudanese migrants, MAP reported.
The operation formed part of Morocco’s migration and asylum policy, which includes assistance for migrants wishing to return to their countries of origin.
Sudan’s ambassador, Mawada Omar Hageltoam El Badawi, described it as the first such flight and said participants wanted to contribute to their country’s reconstruction. She thanked Moroccan authorities for facilitating the operation.
