A fire swept through a car filter factory and spread to two neighboring plants in Morocco’s Fahs-Anjra province Friday afternoon, Sept. 11, Morocco’s interior said in a statement.
Strong winds carried the flames between factories in the TAC 1 industrial zone in Jouamaa. Workers at neighboring factories were evacuated, with no casualties reported.
Local authorities, security services and Civil Protection crews deployed firefighting equipment to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further.
Firefighters were still battling the flames when authorities issued their statement, with strong winds and weather conditions complicating efforts to bring the fire under control.
