Moroccan football supporters ranked 26th among the 48 fanbases at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in a July study by live-streaming platform CasinoStreamers.com.
The study examined 10 factors linked to fan stress, including late goals, narrow defeats, penalty shootouts, extra time, knockout matches, elimination and spikes in Google searches during games.
Morocco’s campaign has included several high-pressure moments, particularly in the knockout stages. Matches decided by small margins and the pressure of elimination have placed Moroccan supporters under intense emotional strain.
The study also used search activity as a real-time indicator of anxiety, tracking moments when fans turned to Google in large numbers during matches.
Dutch supporters were ranked as the most stressed fanbase in the tournament. Their experience included two late goals conceded, a penalty shootout defeat and an extra-time match that kept fans nervous until the final whistle.
Paraguay also ranked highly, having played four matches decided by one goal or fewer, giving their supporters several tense encounters.
Portugal’s fans were also among the most stressed after their team suffered a narrow knockout-stage elimination against Spain.
The report shows that fan stress is not only linked to losing. Late goals, extra time, one-goal margins and knockout matches can all increase pressure, while elimination represents the final blow.
With 48 teams competing at the 2026 World Cup, the expanded tournament has produced plenty of dramatic moments, leaving supporters across the world watching every minute with their nerves on edge.
