Morocco will face Algeria on Saturday, Aug. 15, for the bronze medal at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, giving the Atlas Lionesses a chance to end their home tournament on the podium after missing out on the final.
The Maghreb derby will kick off at 6 p.m. local time at Rabat’s Olympic Stadium, CAF said on Aug. 13.
It will be the teams’ second meeting of the tournament. Morocco beat Algeria 1-0 in the group stage on July 30, with Sanaa Mssoudy scoring the winner in the 84th minute.
Both sides enter the match after semi-final defeats. Morocco lost 3-1 on penalties to Cameroon after a goalless 120 minutes, while Algeria were eliminated by Malawi.
Morocco had reached the last four by beating South Africa 2-1, a victory that also secured qualification for the 2027 Women’s World Cup.
