Moroccan films captured nearly half of national cinema attendance in 2025, outperforming several major foreign releases and highlighting the growing commercial weight of locally produced features.

Data from the Moroccan Cinematographic Centre showed domestic films sold 1.03 million of the 2.19 million tickets purchased nationwide, giving them a 47.24% market share.

They generated 56.34 million dirhams in box-office revenue, or 43.42% of the national total.

Raouf Sebbahi’s My Friend topped the overall rankings with 262,929 admissions and 13.72 million dirhams in revenue.

It was followed by Lotfi Ait El Jaoui’s Routine, with 186,086 admissions, and Hicham Jebbari’s A Family Above Suspicion, with 111,838.

Several of the strongest performers were privately financed films that received no public production support.

Moroccan titles also ranked ahead of international releases including F1, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning and Superman.
