Morocco’s national railway operator ONCF has launched a MAD 400 million ($40 million) tender to build eight new stations for Casablanca’s regional express rail (RER) network, advancing plans to expand commuter rail capacity across the country’s largest city.
The project is divided into two contracts. The first, estimated at MAD 180 million before tax, covers stations at Mohammedia Faculties, Zenata Industrial Zone, Sidi Bernoussi and Ain Sebaa. The second, valued at MAD 220 million, includes Hay Mohammadi, Casablanca Oasis, Mers Sultan, Sidi Maârouf and Nouaceur New City.
According to the tender documents, bids will be opened at ONCF’s Institute for Training and Skills Development in Rabat.
The contract is scheduled to run for 22 months from the official start order and covers the full project cycle, including design studies, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and the completion of all outstanding works before the stations enter service.
