A Moroccan cyber protection organization has filed a complaint with the public prosecutor at the Court of First Instance in Temara against a YouTuber known as Bn Nsns over a video that has sparked widespread backlash online.

The National Organization for Cyber Protection said in a statement posted on Facebook that the complaint, submitted by its president Hamza Tabit, calls for an urgent investigation into digital content that may involve criminal offenses.

The video, which runs more than 41 minutes, triggered strong reactions on social media, with many users describing it as offensive and unjustifiable. In the footage, the YouTuber appears to cook a dead dog, which he reportedly linked to a protest against rising sheep prices during Eid al-Adha.

The organization said the video’s title was offensive to the religious and human sensitivities of many Moroccans.

It added that the footage shows the YouTuber handling and preparing the animal in a way that could encourage the normalization of such behavior.

The group also cited public statements attributed to the YouTuber that it described as aggressive, including alleged threats of violence and remarks targeting members of the public.

According to the organization, such content poses risks to social and moral values and may contribute to the spread of harmful behavior online.

The complaint calls for both legal and technical investigations to determine whether the animal was mistreated or deliberately killed for the purposes of producing the video. It noted that such actions could fall under Article 601 of Morocco’s Penal Code, which addresses animal cruelty.

The organization also warned that statements promoting violence could incite fear and disorder on social media platforms.

It emphasized that the complaint is not limited to animal welfare concerns but also seeks to address broader issues related to harmful digital content and the protection of public order.

Previously, the National Organization for the Defense of Animals in Morocco told Hespress English that such content risks normalizing cruelty and called for stricter enforcement of existing animal protection laws.
