Several cities across Morocco are experiencing repeated water cuts ahead of Eid al-Adha, a period when water demand typically rises.
The situation has raised concerns among residents in Sidi Slimane, Ouled Tayeb, Casablanca, Berrechid and Tiflet, according to local reports, as high temperatures affect multiple regions.
In Tiflet, water cuts have occurred frequently for nearly a week. Similar disruptions have also been reported in parts of Khmis Ait Aamira, in Chtouka Ait Baha province, according to local media.
The Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Regional Multi-Services Company said it has taken preventive measures, in coordination with local authorities, to maintain water supply stability during the Eid period, despite recent temporary interruptions, particularly in Tiflet.
The company said the disruptions are linked to very high temperatures, which have exceeded 40 degrees Celsius in Khemisset province, increasing water consumption and placing pressure on supply systems.
This has affected reservoir refilling and water distribution, especially in elevated areas.
The company said technical teams are working to improve supply, but demand has exceeded normal capacity. It also called on residents to reduce water consumption.
Residents of Ouled Tayeb, in the Fes prefecture, are also facing repeated water cuts, with locals saying the outages have become nearly daily, often without prior notice or explanation.
According to local media, residents said the situation worsened on Sunday, when the area experienced a prolonged outage lasting several hours.
They added that the ongoing disruptions are making daily life more difficult, especially as Eid preparations require reliable access to water.
In Casablanca, several residential areas, particularly in Sidi Maarouf and surrounding neighborhoods, have also reported repeated water cuts, according to media reports.
Residents say the outages have become frequent, disrupting daily life and basic household needs.
Residents in Sidi Slimane are also facing similar issues, calling for urgent intervention as repeated water cuts continue amid high temperatures ahead of Eid al-Adha.
