Morocco national futsal team retained its position as Africa’s highest ranked men’s futsal team in the latest FIFA rankings, climbing to 1,486.53 points after gaining 5.27 points.

Morocco remains comfortably ahead of Egypt national futsal team, ranked 40th globally, and Libya national futsal team, which fell to 53rd place worldwide.

The ranking update follows Morocco’s recent 6-0 victory over Libya in the international futsal tournament hosted in Berkane, where coach Hicham Dguig’s side continued preparations for the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations.

Morocco’s women’s futsal team also maintained its position as Africa’s top ranked side with 1,001.4 points, ahead of Tanzania women’s national futsal team and Senegal women’s national futsal team.

Globally, Brazil national futsal team remained top of the men’s rankings after winning the Copa América, ahead of Portugal, Spain, Argentina and Iran. In the women’s rankings, Brazil led Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Italy and Japan.

FIFA said the latest rankings incorporated results from 321 men’s matches and 84 women’s matches played in continental competitions, qualifiers and friendlies.
