Passenger traffic at Marrakech Menara Airport reached 2.78 million in the first quarter of 2026, up 11.68 percent from a year earlier, according to Morocco’s airport authority.

The airport handled 2,786,781 passengers between January and March, compared with 2,495,383 over the same period in 2025, reflecting sustained growth at one of the country’s main tourist gateways. International traffic accounted for the bulk of activity, with more than 2.68 million passengers, while domestic travel rose faster in relative terms, climbing over 36 percent to just above 104,000 travelers.

March alone saw traffic exceed one million passengers, marking a 13.7 percent increase year on year, as demand continued to recover and expand across key European routes.

The performance aligns with a broader national trend. Moroccan airports recorded 8.9 million passengers at the end of March, up 11.15 percent compared with the same period last year, driven primarily by international traffic flows.

Marrakech remains one of the main entry points for tourism, with routes to Paris, London and other European hubs among the busiest.

The sustained rise in traffic underscores the city’s central role in Morocco’s tourism strategy and the continued expansion of air connectivity ahead of major international events and longer term capacity plans.
