British influencer Rachel Helene Gourlay, known online as Rachel Kerr, is in Agadir following police questioning and continues her stay in the city, a source told Hespress English.

What is confirmed?

Kerr, 31, who entered Morocco on March 30, was reported missing in Agadir for over five days, with concerns raised by a close friend, Alexis Shaw, that she may be “in mental crisis and a danger to herself,” while another friend said she appeared “vulnerable” before disappearing.

She was reported in British media to have last been seen leaving Smart Nightclub at around 5 am on Saturday after checking out of her hotel, switching off her phone, with no contact reported since. Her last Instagram post, on April 13, read, “La marina, propelling her family and friends to investigate.

Verified reports said police found her near a Carrefour supermarket in the city, where she was said to frequently buy alcoholic drinks.

The same reports, Hespress EN verified, added that investigators were told about her recent movements by a young man at whose home she stayed on April 25 and 26, before being asked to leave by his mother due to excessive intoxication.

Her brother travelled to Morocco to file a missing person report at Agadir police, where Kerr had already been located, was with the authorities for questioning, and was later freed, sources told Hespress EN

The Agadir police issued a statement on Wednesday confirming that Kerr is safe, saying she was found in an apartment in the city after voluntarily checking out of her hotel.

Police said she left the hotel on her own and had not been subjected to any attack or threat to her physical safety.

They added that she is still in Morocco in normal conditions and is in contact with her brother, who arrived in the country on April 22 and met her in Agadir.

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) is following the case.

A spokesperson said on Thursday that the department is in contact with local authorities and is supporting the family of the British influencer in Morocco, according to an email shared by a Scottish journalist, who also confirmed that the family doesn’t want to speak to the media.
