A British travel influencer missing in Agadir for over five days is feared to be “in mental crisis and a danger to herself,” according to a close friend.
Rachel Kerr, 31, known on Instagram as Rachel Gourlay, was last seen leaving Smart Nightclub at around 5am on Saturday after checking out of her hotel. Her phone has been switched off since and her family has not heard from her since. Her last Instagram post, on April 13, was captioned “la marina.”
Close friend Alexis Shaw, who has flown to Agadir to help with the search, said friends and family fear Rachel is in a vulnerable state. Another friend described her as appearing “vulnerable” before she disappeared. Rachel’s brother also flew out to look for her but was unable to locate her.
Rachel, who studied at the City of Glasgow College, is believed to have been in Morocco since at least January, regularly posting about her travels on social media. She had written earlier this year that she was staying in Morocco to enjoy the sun.
Family, friends, and police are working together to trace her last movements. Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
