FIFA released its latest women’s world rankings on Tuesday, with Morocco women’s national football team climbing four places to continue their recent upward momentum.
Morocco moved up to 62nd in the global rankings with 1,403 points, compared with 66th in the previous edition, reflecting a string of positive results in recent matches.
At the continental level, the Atlas Lionesses are now ranked fourth in Africa, behind Nigeria women’s national football team, who sit 36th globally, as well as South Africa women’s national football team (58th) and Ghana women’s national football team (59th).
Morocco’s rise follows consecutive wins over Cape Verde women’s national football team (3-0) in March and Tanzania women’s national football team (3-0) in April, along with a 1-1 draw against Mali women’s national football team.
The results come as part of preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, with Morocco seeking to build on its recent progress on the international stage.
