Morocco’s National Technical Director Fathi Jamal said on Tuesday that the country’s football technical department was undergoing a broad restructuring, including the creation of a new unit dedicated to national teams and youth talent tracking.
Speaking at a press conference at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, Jamal said the unit would work alongside national team coaches to improve performance and monitor players across age groups, from under 15 to under 23, in a more coordinated way.
He said the aim was to avoid losing promising players who stand out at one stage but later fall out of view.
Jamal added that Morocco also benefits from a network of scouts working abroad, helping identify a wider pool of players. He said a recent scouting operation for the under 15 category had identified 96 standout players, which he said reflected the depth of football talent across the country.
