The draw for the 2026 Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations was held Wednesday in Cairo, placing host Morocco in Group A alongside Tunisia, Egypt and Ethiopia.

The tournament, scheduled to take place in Morocco from May 13 to June 2, will feature 16 African teams competing for the continental title and qualification to the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Group B includes Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, while Group C features Mali, Angola, Tanzania and Mozambique. Defending champion Senegal headlines Group D, which also includes South Africa, Algeria and Ghana.

According to the Confederation of African Football, 10 teams from the tournament will qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, set to be held in Qatar in November with an expanded format of 48 teams.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage, with all quarterfinalists automatically securing World Cup qualification. The remaining two African slots will be decided through additional playoff matches between third-placed teams.

Morocco enters the tournament as the defending champion, having won the previous edition in April 2025 after defeating Mali in the final.
