Morocco retained 8th place in the latest world rankings released by FIFA, strengthening its position among the global elite ahead of the next World Cup.

The national team increased its tally to 1,755.87 points, maintaining its lead as the top-ranked Arab side and confirming its consistency at the highest level of international football.

The ranking reflects a steady start to a new phase under coach Mohamed Ouahbi. The Atlas Lions secured a 2-1 win over Paraguay national football team in Lens, France, days after drawing 1-1 with Ecuador national football team in Madrid.

Beyond the numbers, maintaining 8th place carries symbolic weight. Since its historic run at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Morocco has moved beyond the status of a one-time surprise to become a consistent presence among the world’s top teams, ahead of several established European and South American sides.

At the regional level, Morocco continues to lead by a comfortable margin. Algeria national football team ranks 28th globally, followed by Egypt national football team in 29th place, Tunisia national football team in 44th, and Qatar national football team in 55th.

Iraq national football team sits 57th after securing qualification for the World Cup for the second time in its history.
