A British bookmaker has started paying out bets on Morocco winning the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after CAF stripped Senegal of the title and awarded the tournament to the hosts, even as Senegal prepares an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Sky Bet, one of the biggest operators in the British market, has settled winning tickets backing Morocco following CAF’s March 17 ruling that Senegal forfeited the final and that the result should be recorded as a 3 to 0 win for Morocco under Articles 82 and 84 of the competition regulations.

CAF’s appeal board said Senegal had infringed the rules by leaving the field during the final in Rabat in January.

The move means Sky Bet has effectively paid out on two different winners of the same tournament, after Senegal had originally beaten Morocco 1 to 0 after extra time on the field. Other operators have been more cautious, with some waiting for the outcome of Senegal’s CAS appeal and others relying on terms that treat results as final after a set period.
