The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency is carrying on its Ramadan social aid campaign benefiting underprivileged Palestinian families in Al-Quds and its surroundings, in an atmosphere that reflects the values of solidarity and mutual assistance that mark the holy month.

In this context, ready-to-serve Iftar meals were distributed on Wednesday afternoon at the Abu Ayoub Al-Ansari takiya (community kitchen) in the village of Biddou, benefiting local residents at a rate of 800 meals per day throughout the month of Ramadan.

The lists of beneficiaries of this campaign are drawn up by social workers according to precise criteria ensuring fairness and transparency in the distribution, while covering the various neighborhoods, camps, villages and localities of Al-Quds in order to ensure that aid reaches the targeted groups and to strengthen its social and humanitarian impact.

The head of the Abu Ayoub Al-Ansari takiya, Alaa Eddari, said the structure, established in 2016, actively contributes to strengthening social solidarity and reducing poverty in the northwestern areas of Al-Quds through the implementation of several humanitarian programs and community services for families in need.

Eddari praised the constant support provided to the Palestinian people by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, and expressed his gratitude to the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency for its major role in supporting humanitarian projects in the Holy City, notably its sustained backing of this structure, which helps support vulnerable families and strengthen their resilience.

For his part, the vice-president of the takiya, Salem Abu Eid, noted that the structure is currently implementing an Iftar initiative for residents of northwestern Al-Quds thanks to the Agency’s support, pointing out that the initiative provides for the distribution of more than 800 Iftar meals per day to residents of the village of Biddou.

He stressed that the strong turnout for the initiative reflects the scale of needs in the region, in a difficult economic context marked by high levels of poverty and unemployment among residents.

Meanwhile, Abdul Aziz Mansour, member of the municipal council of Biddou and volunteer at the takiya, expressed gratitude to all parties supporting these humanitarian initiatives, particularly commending the support of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, which has been assisting many families in need for several years.

This year’s social campaign program provides for the distribution of 5,000 food baskets containing 22 essential products for underprivileged Palestinian families in Al-Quds and villages across the governorate.

It also includes the supply of food products to several takiya and social centers to enable them to prepare nearly 20,000 Iftar meals per day throughout the month of Ramadan.

The program further provides for the distribution of Eid Al-Fitr clothing to 500 orphans supported by the Agency, the organization of medical campaigns for the population, religious chanting and Quran recitation evenings, as well as training sessions for Palestinian associations in marketing and human development aimed at strengthening their capacities and ensuring the sustainability of their community actions.
