Morocco’s Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch will represent Mohammed VI at the second global summit on nuclear energy scheduled to take place in Paris on March 10, according to informed sources.
The summit is jointly organized by France and the International Atomic Energy Agency and is expected to bring together heads of state and government, representatives of international organizations and financial institutions, as well as industry leaders and energy experts.
Participants will discuss the role that civilian nuclear energy could play in addressing major global challenges related to energy supply, climate change, and energy sovereignty.
The meeting comes amid growing global demand for electricity, increasing efforts to reduce carbon emissions, and mounting concerns over countries’ energy security and independence.
Through panel discussions and roundtable sessions, the summit is also expected to provide a platform to strengthen international cooperation and promote practical solutions for the safe and sustainable development of civilian nuclear energy.
