Morocco has fuel reserves sufficient to cover about one month of domestic demand, an official source told Hespress, as authorities closely monitor global energy markets amid tensions in the Middle East.

The source said the country’s stock of petroleum products, including diesel, gasoline and other refined fuels, remains at levels that can ensure supply to the national market for roughly 30 days without disruptions.

Officials are tracking the situation daily and following fluctuations in international energy markets, particularly as the conflict in the Middle East raises concerns about global supply chains and oil prices, the source said.

Morocco’s Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development is monitoring market developments and coordinating with importers and distributors to ensure stable fuel supplies and avoid shortages in the domestic market.

The ministry said it is continuing to closely track national fuel stocks and developments in global energy supply chains in light of regional and international tensions.

Authorities are also maintaining coordination with companies operating in the fuel import and distribution sector to guarantee the stability of supplies and anticipate potential disruptions.

Questions about Morocco’s strategic reserves have intensified in recent days as geopolitical tensions raise fears of disruptions to maritime energy routes.

Some fuel stations have reported temporary shortages, heightening concerns among motorists and professionals in sectors such as transport and logistics.

Energy experts say the situation is testing Morocco’s strategic storage system, noting that national regulations require maintaining reserves sufficient to cover at least 60 days of demand.
