Morocco’s Interior Ministry denies reports of child abduction memo to schools

Morocco’s Interior Ministry on Thursday strongly denied reports circulating on social media and several websites that it had issued a memo to schools warning of a supposed wave of child abductions.

In a statement, the ministry said the claims were completely false and that no official memo had been sent to schools or any other institution. It described the reports as “malicious allegations and unfounded rumors” being spread without verification or reference to official sources.

The ministry urged citizens and media outlets to rely only on official sources for information and to avoid sharing unverified news, warning that such false reports could create unnecessary fear and panic among families and the public.

“Interior Ministry officials remain committed to informing the public accurately and responsibly,” the statement said.
