Indian defence equipment manufacturer MKU is studying the possibility of opening an industrial site in Morocco dedicated to night vision technologies and other military systems, according to Indian media reports and information relayed by India’s embassy in Rabat.
The proposed project would build on existing cooperation with Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces, which have used combat helmets produced by the Kanpur based group for several years. The move would follow the establishment in Morocco of a local production unit for the WhAP 8×8 armored vehicle by Tata Advanced Systems, another major Indian defence company.
MKU is active in ballistic protection and optronics, supplying helmets, body armor and night vision devices to more than 100 countries. The potential Morocco facility could include local manufacturing rather than simple assembly, allowing closer technical support and reduced logistical lead times.
The initiative would align with Morocco’s strategy to develop a domestic defence industry, strengthen operational autonomy and create specialized industrial jobs.
