The US Defense Logistics Agency has included Morocco among 13 foreign military customers covered by a contract worth up to $332.6 million for spare parts and repair support for fighter-pilot helmet targeting systems.

The contract was awarded to Rockwell Collins ESA Vision Systems, a joint venture between Collins Aerospace and Elbit Systems of America, and is expected to run until July 23, 2032.

It covers consumable and repairable spare parts for the Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System, or JHMCS, used aboard F-15, F-16 and F/A-18 fighter aircraft.

The system tracks the direction of a pilot’s head and projects flight and targeting data onto the helmet visor. It allows pilots to direct onboard sensors and weapons toward a target by looking at it, including targets located away from the aircraft’s forward line of flight.

Morocco was listed alongside Greece, Singapore, Chile, Denmark, Norway, Thailand, Oman, Taiwan, Portugal, Canada, Switzerland and Australia as a Foreign Military Sales customer eligible to obtain parts and repair services through the contract.

The award also supports the US Air Force and Navy. Work will be carried out at facilities in Texas, Oregon and Israel, using US military working-capital funds and Foreign Military Sales financing through fiscal year 2032.

The Pentagon notice did not specify Morocco’s individual share of the contract, the number of helmet systems it would support or the value of orders expected from Rabat.

Collins Elbit Vision Systems has provided JHMCS equipment and support to US and allied air forces for decades and has previously received separate US contracts for repairs and maintenance of the system.
