Morocco set to part ways with coach Walid Regragui as federation prepares successor
Tuesday 24 February 2026 - 21:18

Morocco is preparing to end its relationship with national team coach Walid Regragui by mutual agreement, with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation expected to announce a separation and appoint a new coach soon, Hesport reported.

The report said the federation has been in contact with potential replacements and that Regragui had signaled his intention to step aside after Morocco’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign, even as he and his staff continued working while the federation assessed next steps.

An official split has been delayed by negotiations over financial terms, despite broad agreement that his tenure is nearing its end.

Any change would come weeks before Morocco’s March international window, which the federation has scheduled with friendlies against Ecuador on March 27 in Madrid and Paraguay on March 31 in Lens, France.
