Morocco’s Ministry of Interior announced Wednesday that the registration process for compulsory military service for the 2026 intake will run from March 2 through April 30.

In a statement, the ministry said the census is part of preparations to integrate the next group of conscripts into military service starting Sept. 1, 2026, in line with directives issued by King Mohammed VI, the supreme commander and chief of the general staff of the Royal Armed Forces.

The announcement followed a meeting held Wednesday at the Interior Ministry headquarters by the Central Commission for Military Service Census, chaired by a senior judge from the Court of Cassation. The meeting focused on establishing the criteria for selecting young people who will be invited to complete the military service registration form for the 2026 conscription cycle.

According to the statement, the commission determined the standards for identifying the required number of eligible youths using the Interior Ministry’s military service census database.

Based on these criteria, authorities will compile and classify lists of selected individuals by prefectures, provinces and district prefectures according to their place of residence. Local administrative offices across the country will then print and deliver census notifications to those concerned.

The Interior Ministry urged recipients of the census notice to promptly complete the registration form via the official military service website at www.tajnid.ma
