The Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports on Friday announced the suspension of classes Friday evening and Saturday, citing severe weather warnings issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology.

The decision, taken in coordination with local authorities, applies to schools in the municipalities of Imi N’Oulaoun, Telouet, Ighrem Nougdal, Tidili, Toundout, Ghassate, Siroua, Znaka, Tarmigt and Ouarzazate.

Classes were also suspended on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, in the municipalities of Ouarzazate and Tarmigt, the statement said.

The move follows recommendations from the provincial vigilance committee and aims to ensure the safety of students, staff and school facilities amid expected snowfall and strong winds.

School administrators were instructed to take precautionary measures and maintain close coordination with local authorities, while families were urged to keep children at home and avoid unnecessary travel.
