Algerian Fan Arrested for Tearing Moroccan Banknotes

Moroccan security services have arrested an Algerian fan in Casablanca following the circulation of a viral video showing him tearing up Moroccan banknotes near the Grand Stadium of Marrakech.

Dual National Detained The suspect, who holds British citizenship alongside his Algerian nationality, was identified after appearing in the footage with other supporters destroying the national currency.

Legal Proceedings Following his arrest in Casablanca, the individual was transferred to the security services in Marrakech, where the incident took place. Authorities confirmed that he has admitted to the charges and has been placed in police custody (garde à vue) under the instructions of the Public Prosecution at the Marrakech Court of Appeal.
