Nigeria will be without captain Wilfred Ndidi for its Africa Cup of Nations semi final against hosts Morocco after the midfielder picked up his second yellow card of the tournament, triggering a one match suspension under competition rules, Nigerian and international sports outlets reported.

Ndidi was booked during Nigeria’s 2 0 quarterfinal win over Algeria in Marrakech on Saturday, having already been cautioned earlier in the tournament against Mozambique, according to the reports.

Nigeria play Morocco on Wednesday at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, with kickoff scheduled for 9 pm local time, the Confederation of African Football said.

Ndidi would be available again if Nigeria reach the final or play in the third place match, the reports said.
